Foliar applied fungicides: Effect on soybean disease, soybean yield and interaction with insecticides

چکیده
In a trial conducted at the University of Minnesota Southwest research and Outreach Center, Lamberton, MN, Headline fungicide was applied at three rates at V5, at two rates at R2 and at one rate at V5 and R2. At R4, Headline, Quadris Tilt ad Bravo were applied at a single rate each. Additionally at R4 Warrior was applied alone and in combination with Headline and Quadris, Lorsban was applied with Headline and Quadris and Mustang Max was applied with headline. Differences in soybean lower leaf loss and to a lesser extent brown stem rot were observed. With the exception of Mustang Max, treatments with an insecticide had less aphids than those without. These treatment differences did not translate into yield as all treatments yielded equivalently. Differences in soybean growth were not observed. Although other diseases were present in the trial, treatment differences were not observed. With the exception of a brief yellowing in some Bravo treated plots, crop injury was not observed for any of the treatments.

Effect of Beauveria bassiana (Hypocreales: Clavicipitaceae) and Fungicide Applications on Megacopta cribraria (Hemiptera: Plataspidae) in Soybean
Declining populations of kudzu bug, Megacopta cribraria (F.), in the southeastern United States have been observed since 2013 and are generally attributed to increased prevalence of natural enemies. Beauveria bassiana (Bals.-Criv.) Vuill. infects kudzu bugs in North America, but the level of pest suppression has not been reported. Beauveria bassiana is sensitive to classes of fungicides used to...
متن کاملImpact of reduced-risk insecticides on soybean aphid and associated natural enemies.
Insect predators in North America suppress Aphis glycines Matsumura (Hemiptera: Aphididae) populations; however, insecticides are required when populations reach economically damaging levels. Currently, insecticides used to manage A. glycines are broad-spectrum (pyrethroids and organophosphates), and probably reduce beneficial insect abundance in soybean, Glycine max (L.) Merr. Our goal was to ...
متن کاملEffects of Rhizobium– Mycorrhizae Symbiosis and Foliar Application of Urea on Some Traits of Soybean
In order to investigate the effect of rhizobium bacteria, mycorrhiza fungi and foliar application of urea on qualitative and quantitative traits of soybean an experiment was conducted based on randomized complete block design with four replications. The experiment included six treatments as: Control (C), Rhizobium bacteria (R), Rhizobium bacteria + Mycorrhiza fungi (R+M), Rhizobium bacteria + F...

Cerotoma trifurcata Förster (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) and Bean pod mottle virus (Comoviridae) (BPMV) both can reduce yield and seed quality of soybean, Glycine max (L.) Merr. Field experiments were conducted to evaluate the effects of systemic, seed-applied, and foliar-applied insecticides for the management of this pest complex at three locations in central, northeastern, and northwestern Io...
متن کاملThe Effect of an Interspersed Refuge on Aphis glycines (Hemiptera: Aphididae), Their Natural Enemies, and Biological Control
Soybean production in the north central United States has relied heavily on the use of foliar and seed applied insecticides to manage Aphis glycines (Hemiptera: Aphididae). An additional management strategy is the use soybean cultivars containing A. glycines resistance genes (Rag). Previous research has demonstrated that Rag cultivars are capable of preventing yield loss equivalent to the use o...
